Any thoughts on Alliance and Leicester?

I%26#039;m closing my current account with the hateful Natwest, and doing a spot of research into the best account to open instead.

Alliance and Leicester seem to have a good one, called the %26#039;Premier Direct Current Account%26#039; with low overdraft interest rate etc, and internet banking. However I don%26#039;t know much about thier reputation- are they any good? Good customer services? Do they slap massive charges on you willy nilly? Etc.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I have been with them for two years with a Premiere account and very satisfied.

The only reason I am moving is because Bank Of Scotland are paying 锟?00 to people opening a current account with them. They offer everything that Alliance do.

.|||A friend had an account with a%26amp;l and when she queried some charges they had incorrectly added to her account, they responded by shutting her account with no notice.

Halifax are good, i moved to them after i left natwest.|||Don%26#039;t go with Alliance.

I have the same account with them at the moment and they have charged me 锟?0 for going 锟?.34 overdrawn. The account rules are stupid, they charge you 锟?5 on the first day you go overdrawn and then they charge you 锟?5 for the fifth day too so even if you got paid weekly, you still do not get enough time to pay it off
